This post features the leg actuator for the Mark I Iron Man suit. Tony can be seen testing this unit on the bench with Yinsen in their cave workshop. As Raza watches on his CCTV in the cave surveillance room, Tony sits on the corner of the workbench and kicks out his leg. When he does so this piece laying on the bench in front of him, moves in tandem with him. This signifies the first working piece of the prototype armor seen and is also the key component that gets damaged during his daring escape, sending him to his knees.
Made of aluminum with geared teeth and rubber toothed belt drive, the belt is bolted to an air cylinder to actuate the belt back and forth. Item is painted to resemble weathered raw steel and the lower leg segment is missing from item. Measures 24″ x 8″ x 7″. Production noted this as the hero leg unit used by Robert Downey Jr.
