Our Team

ALEC PETERS
A 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner and one of the top collectors of Star Trek screen-used props and costumes (his Star Trek Prop & Costume Blog has over 7,500 unique visitors a month), Alec has been able to marry his passion with his work.
An attorney by training, Alec graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law, passed the bar, and promptly took a job coaching men’s volleyball at USC, where he was assistant coach on the 1990 NCAA Championship team. He also coached with the USA National Team until starting his first business, AMG, a sports management company. After that Alec started Auctionworks, which became eBay’s # 1 partner for sales automation, managing clients such as Disney, Home Depot, Dell and IBM.
Alec attended the 2006 Christie’s Star Trek auction and that sparked his interest in collecting screen used props & costumes. When Battlestar Galactica was coming to a close, he contacted his friend Richard Hatch, Tom Zarek on the show (and the original Apollo) and Richard put him in touch with the right people at NBC/Universal. The rest is Battlestar history. Propworx is now the # 1 source for studio prop & costume auctions and 2010 will be a huge year for the young company.
Alec collects Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica props & costumes, which are his main passions currently. Alec has been collecting comics on and off since he was six. He is a huge Captain America fan, watched Star Trek when it was first on TV, rules at Warhammer 40,000 and drives his dream car, a bright red 2001 Lotus Esprit. His favorite movies are Blade Runner, Lawrence of Arabia, The Wind and the Lion, The Magnificent Seven, Tombstone and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Alec isn’t quite sure what he wants to do when he grows up.

CURTIS SHORT
Curtis is a native of Seattle who moved to Southern California in 2008. Known to the Propworx crew as “The Shipmaster”, Curtis manages the day-to-day workings of Propworx as well as overseeing all the company’s live auction and eBay shipping. Prior to joining Propworx, he worked as an Operations Supervisor at UPS for 8 years, in addition to 3 years experience with Office Depot as a Supply Chain Manager. Curtis is an avid fan of In-n-Out, savvy new business ideas, and driving really fast. He recently purchased a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 and can be seen constantly breaking the sound barrier on any and all L.A. freeways. Curtis currently resides in La Habra with his beautiful wife Aulnay. He is also the proud father of two daughters, Sydny and Asia. In November, the family will welcome a new addition, baby boy Curtis Jr.—who will grow up to be the star quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks (C’mon, Junior Short?! That name’s got quarterback written all over it).

DAMIAN BEURER
A native of Glastonbury, Connecticut, Damian has lived in Los Angeles for more than four years. Having worked in front of, behind, and above the camera, he has become a “Jack of All Trades” in the entertainment biz. Damian has collected comic books since he was five years old, dressed up as super-heroes since he was six, and occasionally gets paid by companies to portray them at conventions across the country. More important, he uses his awesome powers for good. Several times a year he collects donations from movie studios, toy companies, and comic book shops, so he can don the tights and cape of Superman for visits to children’s hospitals and the City of Hope’s annual cancer survivors picnic. Damian is currently working on several ongoing web series. In his spare time he enjoys slaying dragons and saving damsels in distress.

DAVID READ
David Read hails from Eastern St. Louis, where he became interested in science fiction at only three years old. Until the age of six Star Trek and Public Television were the only programming he was allowed to watch, solidifying his attraction to the sci-fi genre. He joined the Web site GateWorld.net in 2002 as an editor, and over the years has worked to become business partners with GateWorld owner Darren Sumner. As a furtherance of his love for Stargate, he has joined the Propworx team to make use of the vast lump of gate information in his brain and help make the 2010 auctions an unforgettable experience for both lurkers and participants.

JARROD HUNT
Jarrod is a native of northern California who has lived in Los Angeles for the past year. Before being a member of the Propworx crew, Jarrod worked as a Laboratory Scientist in the hospital setting, and is very excited to be a part of the Hollywood auction business where he can bring his vast knowledge of television and movie information to Propworx.
In his spare time, Jarrod enjoys building and collecting props and is a huge fan of genre TV, including Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Star Trek, and numerous other science fiction shows and movies. Jarrod currently resides in Lakewood with his beautiful wife Espy Jane and his two sons, Ruben and Ezra.
He is the only man to ever ace a Rorschach test. Every time he goes for a swim, dolphins appear. He once had an awkward moment, just to see how it feels. He is… “The most interesting man in the world.”

SHELLEY OLIVER LITTLETON
After meeting Alec at the first Battlestar Galactica auction in 2009, Shelley saw the passion and excitement the Propworx team brought to their work and realized you could work and have fun at the same time! As Director of Marketing for Propworx, Shelley brings years of experience working with industry giants, high-profile clients, boutique consulting firms, and small start-ups. She has provided marketing, public relations, event planning and strategic consulting services to a wide range of clients in the software, technology, entertainment, financial, and professional services industries.

In her spare time, Shelley enjoys playing with her two dogs Jack and Jewel and playing drums on Rock Band. Anyone need a drummer?
